Scheduled sending

Sending at a chosen time for new messages, replies and forwards, the Scheduled folder, cancelling and editing before the message goes out.

Updated 19.10.2026

The Schedule button sits next to Send in the new message window, in the reply under a thread and in the forward form. The message waits on the Faldro server and goes out at the chosen time — your browser can be closed by then.

Picking a time

Option When it goes out
Tomorrow morning Tomorrow at 8:00
Tomorrow afternoon Tomorrow at 13:00
Monday morning The next Monday at 8:00
Pick date and time Any moment, confirmed with the Schedule send button

Each preset shows its exact date next to it. Clicking a preset schedules the message straight away — just like Gmail; a custom time needs confirming.

Times follow your browser's clock: "8:00" means 8:00 in your time zone, even if the server is somewhere else. Limits:

  • the time must be in the future — a moment that has already passed (e.g. the form sat open for a long time) means a normal send;
  • at most one year ahead.

After scheduling, a bar confirms "Message scheduled for …" with an Undo button. A new message takes you to the Scheduled folder; a reply or forward takes you back to the thread.

Undo cancels the scheduled send. For a new message, the message window opens with the text, recipients and subject restored (without attachments); for a reply you go back to the thread with "Scheduled reply cancelled." — you'll need to write the text again. A forward is simply cancelled.

A scheduled message goes through the same pre-send checks (e.g. the question about many recipients) at the moment you schedule it.

The "Scheduled" folder

The Scheduled folder in the left sidebar (with a counter) shows the whole organisation's queue of pending sends — in a team you can see who scheduled what. A member limited to a multi-inbox only sees sends from their own mailboxes.

Each row shows the subject, a "reply" or "fwd" tag for replies and forwards, a paperclip icon for attachments, the recipients, the name of the person who scheduled it, the send time (in your browser's time zone) and the mailbox. Clicking the subject of a reply opens its thread.

This folder also shows messages waiting in the 30-second "Undo" window after a normal Send.

Cancelling and editing

Icon What it does
Pencil "Cancel and edit — the message goes back to the composer" New messages only. Cancels the send and opens the content in the message window as a draft. Attachments need to be added again.
Circled × "Cancel send" After confirming, the message will not be sent. Works for every kind.

A scheduled reply or forward can't be edited — cancel it and write it again in the thread. Only a message that is still waiting can be cancelled; one that is already going out is out of reach.

When sending fails

If the SMTP server rejects the message at send time, there's no retry. A red box appears above the list — "Scheduled messages that failed to send (…, last 7 days)" — with the subject, recipients and the server's message. What the common messages mean: Help: sending fails.
