Which mail providers work
Any provider with IMAP/SMTP. A list of providers that need something enabled first.

Faldro connects using the standard IMAP (receiving) and SMTP (sending) protocols, so it works with any provider that offers them — which means practically any hosting or mail service. For popular providers, the account form fills in servers and ports automatically.
Providers with an extra requirement

| Google (Gmail, Workspace) | Generate an app password in your Google account's security settings (requires 2-step verification to be enabled). A regular password is rejected. |
| Microsoft 365 / Outlook | The domain admin must enable Authenticated SMTP for the mailbox; with two-factor verification you need an app password. |
| Yahoo, Apple iCloud, Fastmail, Zoho | An app password from the account settings. |
| WP, o2, Interia and similar | A separate password for mail programs, generated in the mailbox's browser settings; some of them require you to enable IMAP first. |
| Telekom (t-online) | A separate "e-mail password", different from your customer account password. |
| all-inkl | The server is a name like wXXXX.kasserver.com from the KAS panel. |
| dhosting / dpoczta | The domain must have mail activated separately in the panel — without it, sending fails with a "554 Relay access denied" error. |
The account form shows this hint automatically once it recognises the provider.
Gmail and Microsoft via OAuth
If your Faldro installation has OAuth login configured, "Connect with Google" / "Connect with Microsoft" buttons appear on the accounts list, and an app password isn't needed. On faldro.com this route is being rolled out in stages — when the button isn't there, use an app password.
POP3
Supported, but not recommended: POP3 only fetches messages and doesn't sync folders or read status. Always choose IMAP when the provider offers it.
